Special Keybinds on Hardware Keyboard possible?

good morning everyone,
i am using the HTC touch Pro, which has a 5 line full qwerty keyboard. this keyboard has a 'second-function' key which allowes me to do some special characters with the standard buttons. anyways, some of the buttons do not have a second bind - and i am wondering if its possible to set a custom bind for some of those? maybe there's a software for that?

for ex. i miss the characters like: "{}><"

Can you access those keys through SYM key?
