I'm considering buying an ipaq, but have a few questions. Can I get an adapter to somehow connect my ipaq to a phone line so I can dial in to my existing ISP (in otherwords, I'm not looking for a wireless solution right now, just the ability to get online).
Since I haven't had any PPC experience this next question may be obvious to others, but I still need to know... with my ipaq connected to my computer can I drag any kind of file onto the ipaq and use it to take to another computer (like another external storage device)?
Thanks, K.

To answer your question 1 - Yes...the only thing with iPaq is that you have to get an expansion pack and a modem. If you choose CF expansion pack - you go for CF modem. CF pack sells for around $60 and the modem for about $40.00. If you go for PCMCIA pack - you pick either PCMCIA of CF modem with an adapter (which is usually included with the modem. PCMCIA pack sells for about $100.00. Sounds expensive but having at least CF pack is recommended for iPaq since you can use other options on the market.
As far as the storage goes...you can drag the files to your iPaq through the synchronised PDA folder on your PC. Once you do that - the files are synchronised to your pda. You can also drag them directly to PDA once you open your pda documents folder on your PC. The only thing is that it's not as fast as having let's say ZIP drive connected to your PC and dragging files on to it.

One more thing...the other computer you'd be taking files to would have to have Active Sync software installed on it

Or if you have a CF/PC card sleeve, you can transfer to that & just use it on whichever laptop or PC with PCMCIA slot or card reader. No need ActiveSync.
There is also a cable that would connect your iPaq to an external modem if you already have one. If not, then you'll have to get the CF/PC card modem as suggested by ordxpres, I'm afraid.

Thanks for your suggestions. I did get the ipaq 3955 and a CF expansion sleeve and a CF modem. So far everything worked great....EXCEPT I can't delete some files on the ipaq that are in the Personal folder. I can delete stuff on the CF storage card, and items that are not in the Personal folder. Any ideas? I get a message that access is denied, to make sure I have enough ipaq memory, and to make sure the file is not read-only.
