You can try CritterMap Software's BackCountry Navigator

grandkodiak, I'm trying to do the same thing withe same phone. How did this work out? The other program I could find was GPS Tuner which was pricier but had a lot of nice features.

actually yes, I downloaded DeLorme Topo USA 7.0, works perfect and looks even better then the cycling computers they got out there, not to mention its much brighter and bigger screen! right now im just trin to find a mount that will work on the handlebars... all the ones i see are just side pressure hold style which obviously is not nearly strong enough... im looking now at motorcycle handlebar mounts because they usually enclose the entire unit or atleast all 4 sides.

ps but for now i just keep it in my zipper pocket and pull it out every once in awhile to reference the map, its awesome! holds signal pretty well for a $30 ebay receiver haha

So you don't need any other gps software to process the data from the receiver?

Nope... windows mobile does it all :) just pair the gps reciever via bluetooth and either go to the "external gps" setup program or set up an outgoing com port in the bluetooth setup for the gps, then in any software (ie google maps, tomtom software, topo) just select the same com port for the gps reciever as you assigned it, and thats that. windows takes care of the rest.
