Does anyone know of a way that you can use Active Sync over a LAN/Wireless connection? I have a WiFi card and would like to sync that way instead of sitting at my PC with it hooked up via USB.
Thanks

The new iPAQ 5400 series comes with a program called NetMottion Wireless http://www.nmwco.com/ and it claims to be able to do that. I am just not sure how.
This is what they claim:
"NetMotion Mobility: Reliable wireless computing
Use NetMotion Mobility to roam between WLANs, WWANs, Bluetooth networks, and hot spots while maintaining secure, reliable access to corporate data and applications. Learn how to ActiveSync remotely and have access to your network anytime you have a wireless connection—all with 128-bit, VPN-level security. Experience the freedom of true mobile computing with NetMotion Mobility."

If you already have your wireless card up and running, all you do is :
1. On your desktop sync, click file, connection settings, "allow network connection"
2. open active sync from your PPC and click sync. Might have to click tools, options and check the include PC when syncing button. When doing this for others in my office, I had to delete and reset their partnership to get the computer recognized.

After your perform an initial sync using the cradle you can sync via your wireless or ethernet lan card by going into Settings, Connections, Connections and change the third drop down box to "My network card connects to: The Internet." Also check Tools in Activesync to insure that the second check box is enabled and that your desktop host name appears in the dropdown box.
Then in the desktop Activesync, in File, Connection Settings make sure the checkbox for "Allow network (ethernet) and remote access service (ras) server connections with this desktop computer" is enabled.
Remember to change Settings, Connections, Connections back to the original settings when you are finished.

I have tried all of the above and my 5455 does not see my PC. It is a Win2000 system which is connected to a Wireless AP. I am running WEP 64K also. Any suggestions?

Looks like a good website. I have one thing you may want to add. It seems that a lot of people have firewalls residing on their PCs. When sending the request for an activesync, the firewall will block that request because it is unsolicited by the PC. You must allow that request to get through your firewall by either opening a hole for those ports (although I dont know what they are) or opening a port for the whole IP address of your iPAQ.
