I have a HTC Touch Pro running the latest OS. I am having problems retrieving emails from my gmail account. I got the phone yesterday and set up my Outlook accounts and my gmail account for direct push to the phone. Everything worked great until I did a hard reset last night. I was able to reload my Outlook account with no problem. However, I have followed the on screen prompts to re-establish the gmail account but have been unable to get it to sync. It gives me the following message "Cannot connect to the incoming mail server. Be certain that your login information is correct, then try again to send and receive mail".
At first I thought it had something to do with the phone but a little research makes me believe otherwise. I used a secondary gmail account and the the phone synced right up by simply following the on-screen prompts. I then borrowed a co-worker's HTC Touch Pro and tried to establish a connection to my gmail account. I got the same error message that was displayed on my phone. I have made absolutely no changes to my gmail account settings and I confirmed that the settings were the same as those on my secondary account. Based on that it appears that the problem is probably on gmail's end and specific only to my primary account. Any ideas or suggestions to correct this would be greatly appreciated.
