Windows Media Player

I uninstalled my windows media player by mistake from my iPAQ 3635. How can i reinstall it. I went to microsoft download page and dld. Version7.1. I got an error message to say this version of WM is not compatiblew with my system. I run Pocket PC 2002.
Please any suggestions??

hi- i just bought my first PDA last week- unit same as yours... when i dwnloaded new media plyr, it was version 8!! try that.

Your ipaq is a 3600 series, therefore it originally had pocketpc 2000 os and had been upgraded to pocketpc 2002. You need to track down the pocketpc 2002 upgrade cd from compaq. The WMP 8 original install is on that cd. The WMP 8 on MS site is an updated version and will not install without the presence of that original WMP 8 from the cd.

I have an iPAQ 3635 and it has Windows OS 3.0 installed which I understand is Pocket PC 2002. My iPAQ Media Player is version 4. Where can I find the updated version?

Aren't the versions different for desktops/laptops and PDA's? Are the really on the same version 8 for each? Is the download file really the same for both desktops and PDA's?
