I just got my 5450 today and set up the password for PIN and fingerprint. However, when I shut down with the power button and then turn on with the power button, it goes right to the today screen and bypasses asking for a password, half the point of getting the damn thing was the password protection. If I take out and re-insert the battery and then boot up the pda, I am asked for my password. I really need to figure this out. Someone, please! Oh, and soft reset brings about a one time request for a password, but after that, back to normal. Please help, I'm desperate!

I'm experienceing a similar problem. I have my 5455 set for Either fingerprint or pin number. For the first couple of days, it would come up with the finger print reader as default and a tab for switching to using the pin number. Lately however, it only comes up with the pin number entry page.

Try this... Settings/Password (at this point you should be prompted for your password or finger) On the drop down list for "Prompt if device unused for..." select 0.

Glister's recommendation is correct. The value your are setting determines how many minutes the ipaq is off before it requests a password at power-on.
Second issue: If the pin request comes up first before the fingerprint on power-on do a soft reset to fix. This seems to occur
occasionally and an upgrade to rom 1.10 does not fix this mildly annoying problem.
