With all the disadvantages of store-bought adhesive screen protectors (i.e. high cost per sheet, bubbles, screen distortion), I was looking into the viability of home-made screen protectors from standard sheet protectors. I have AVERY sheet protectors and I see that the clarity is good (the are not noticible when the PDA is on.

MY PROBLEM: I want a way to keep the screen protectors from falling off when I turn the unit upside down

A few minutes ago, I found this old aritcle on Pocket PC Passion about doing a simular thing for a Casion PDA using cut-out tabs to keep the protector in place: http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/Gene...ect-O-matic.htm

I was wondering if someone knew if the same thing could be done for the AXIM (i.e. there are spots between the screen and caseing where tabs could fit)

If someone wanted to be REALLY nice, I would be fantastic if they could come up with their own AXIM template!

Any help is much appreciated!

THANKS, ANTHILL

Although I haven't tried this on a Pocket PC, you might be able to use an overhead transparency and cut it to the correct size. Another idea is to try cutting part of a clear plastic folder or a laminating sheet. This worked for my Palm III. To get it to stay in place, you could create a small tab that tucks underneath the edge of the screen. I haven't seen the Axim in person, so I don't know how big of a gap there is next to the screen.

If you purchase a premade protector, you can request to have the shop install it for you. That way, you don't have to pay for a defective screen protector.

Good luck!

Cut it slightly bigger than the screen and try it. Most of the pdas you can slide the thing between screen and case.
