Since I spend days trying to figure out why my PDA HP IPAQ 210 is not being detected either on my lap top or desktop I am going with the idea of syncing using desktop and lap top synchronization.

Thanks for the help. PS do I need to use a cable between the two computers and what kind?

I have good news about the above. I have tried for several months to sync between my PDA IPAQ 210 and Windows 7 and now I can.

1) I went into my IPAQ 210, under settings ; connections USB to PC and unchecked
enable advanced network functionality.

2) Then I went to Mobil Device Center 6.1 Mobil Device Settings and Connection Settings and clicked on allow connection to one of the following ( the box indicates Bluetooth)

click on that box and it will show you a pull down menue and will show you a com port. change to the available comport Leave the rest of the boxes checked.

Then I restarted my desktop and soft reset my PDA and everything is good. I hope this helped

To sync my ipaq rx1955, I only had to go to settings in my ipaq, tap on connections, tap on Activesync mode and change the USB Activesync Interface to USB Serial Sync Mode.

That's it and it syncs flawlessly using the Windows Mobile device Center 6.1

Good luck
