Hey all,

Just wondering, has anyone had succes with making their own alarm sounds? I tried using .midi and .wav files to make my own alarms of ANYTHING with the sony-provided program, but it wouldn't work. The polyphonic speaker really is something, and I hate to have it just sit there playing boring old alarm sounds. If anyone has any alarm sounds AT ALL, please go ahead and upload them into this thread, and if I come across any, I'll do the same. And if you have some words for the wise, I'd love to hear them. Cheers

There was a program called Sound Converter that was included on my instillation CD for the NR70 that will convert midi and wav sounds for use as alarms in datebook and World Alarm Clock.

Yeah, but did you ever convert anything? I tried with both types(.wav, .midi) and it wouldn't work. I would really like to get my own alarm sounds, I think that the polyphonic speaker could really be handy, I think it is good enough to recognize a voice.

I have converted several wav files. I had a problem with a few until I looked at chapter 9 in the Add-on Application Guide and discovered it only converted certain file formats. I use 22kHz 8 bit mono for my file formats and they work just fine.

Aha! I thought I was doing something wrong, but didn't realise wav had different formats. Thanks, I'll try to post some here if it works. Cheers
