Hello!

I have yet another poorly Psion. A Series 3 Classic - actually a Series 3s as it has the spreadsheet - is telling me the backup battery is low. It tells me this if there is no backup battery in there at all, or if there is a new one fitted, or a "known good" one from another machine. The contacts don't appear to be corroded, and I've tried bending them slightly to make sure contact is being made, but all to no avail. Is this a common fault? Is there anything I can do to repair it?

Thanks,
Damian

Just a thought, but assuming you don't have any valuable data on it have you tried resetting the PDA to make sure it's not a software glitch?

Good point. I'll give it a go. Thanks!

Unfortunately it's not a software problem. Ah well, I'll just have to keep this little computer for use around the house and make sure it's on external power when it needs a battery change.

Just did a quick Google search and found this... have a look under section 4.1.1

Thanks Tony. I'll give it a go, though my Psion is saying "backup battery is low" and not "replace backup battery" as per the information in that FAQ.

Oops, overlooked that. Might be worth a try, as you say.
