App Launchers

Hi,

I'm new to PDA's, well pretty new. I have a Sharp Wizard...now I have a CLIE T665C which is everything I wanted my Wizard to be...:p

I was wondering what the general opinion of App Launcher software was. I've Demo'd Silver Screen and MegaLauncher. I like Silver Screen, but there are some things in MegaLauncher that I wish Silver Screen had.

What does everyone else use? Any preferences?

If you answer Other, please name your Launcher.

I prefer Z-Launcher, myself. It lets me xfer files to my SD card easily and just seems friendlier to me.

I used Launcher III for quite a while, but "cross-graded" to LauncherX when it became available. I really like it, especially the built-in file management "gadget" which is similar to FileMan.

of what ive tried, i like megalauncher the best, but since i havent found one which i can use small icons with, i just dont use them

Silver Screen has a small icons option. Is that what you meant?

I've been sifting through Palm Gear and came across a launcher that I wanted to let everyone know about. ZLauncher. If you haven't checked this launcher out you really should. It's loaded and not only looks nice, but handle's well and has more features and options than anything else I demo'd. It's the best price also.

It's worth seeing.

Since you have a Sony, why don't you try YiShow?:

YiShow is a very good launcher, and it is optimized for Clies. Give it a try, you might like it. Personally, I use SilverScreen. I don't know why, but I haven't tried MegaLauncher yet. I'll give it a shot.

I cast my vote for LauncherX. I used LauncherIII for years and gladly upgraded. I tried a lot of the others and found this to be the best IMHO.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you meant that ZLauncher is not a Hi Res Launcher?

It seems to be to me. Maybe I'm out there and don't know. But it I have it set to 64K.

Can you tell me why it's not Hi Res?

I was a huge fan of Launcher III on my Palm Vx.
Now I've gone to LauncherX for my NX70. It's really nice. I suggest you check it out.

I tried Silver Screen today, and really didn't like it. The Sony Launcher that came bundled ewith the NX70 was very neato but way too cumbersome IMO.

I'll add my vote for LauncherX. I've tried both YiShow and ZLauncher and just didn't care for them. I don't like a Windows style interface on my PDA (YiShow) and Zlauncher was just very busy looking and I couldn't see all my tabs at once. It's been a while since I've used either SilverScreen or MegaLauncher. I remember liking both on my Visor Prism, but when I used LauncherX on my NX60 I just loved it. It has a very clean interface with no clutter, and I like that I can position tabs on the top, bottom, left or right. I like my left handed tabs (being a lefty) and won't consider any launcher that doesn't allow that.

launcherx is good, and the only thing I found lacking (and an important thing it is) was an "all" tab. If it had that, then I would like it a lot more.
