I have a Psion 3c and a 3mx. In the manual it tells you you can look at the "Directory Structure on your disk" by pressing 'Tab' to select the list you want and press the 'Diamond' key until the 'Tree View' is obtained. I have spent hours on both PDA's trying to see the tree view but just can't get to it. Pressing the Diamond key only turns on or off the memory usage bar display!!
I want to get to a position where I can 'Compare Directories' for data on my SSD to my Internal data but I can't get to the 'Commands menu, which involves getting into the Tree view/ Files Application area.

Please Help those few who still have the knowledge

I think that you can't see the tree view on that way.

For this view you need the program 'Files', it is installed on your Psion 3C and MX.

Good luck.

Kees.

Please tell me how I get to the program 'Files' view.

Please give me a step by step description of how to get there.

I have just searched for it on both my 3mx's and my 3c and can't find it.

Kind regards

Jimlad :)

Hello Jimlad,

It's a standard program.
Push ("Psion sign"+J) after that a "Tab" and choose "Files".

Kees.

Hello Kees,

Thank you for replying.
The following has been done on both my Psion 3mx's and my 3c.
I have switched on all Psions. Pressed the yellow Psion button (with underlined U - bottom left button) and the J button. On all Psions I get a second screen with the heading 'Install Standard' with a sub line 'Application' RunOpl and below that Postion 'Current' Pressing 'Tab' only gives the full options range. This clearly is the window for installing apps.

I must be doing something wrong. Please can you take me from switching 'on' step by step.

Thank you for your valuable assistance.

Regards

Jimlad

Jimlad,

Strange. I took an English 3C. I put the batteries in it and after that there was the icon with the folders and the name "Files" on my screen.
If you can't see that icon into your screen, again press (Psion sign+J) then "Tab" and you must see the name Files.

Kees.

Hi Kees,

The important requirement I was missing
big time, was I needed to select the 'Files Icon'. Having done that it is fine.
I opened the files folder then clicked on the diamond key and could see the whole file system tree.

I am glad I finally got there with your help.

People like you with in depth knowledge on the Psions are hard to find when a problem arises.

Thank you
