I have a Clié 770C for 8 months now. Globally the device is a good one and I enjoy using it. But, after six months of use. I noticed some dust inside the screen. At the beginning it was two or three, not really a problem, then little by little it becomes a myriad of small dust particles, so I decided to send it back for repair under guarantee... And then.... Sony ask me to pay 360 € to have it repair stating that screens are neither under guarantee !!!

That is really the best of all ! The screen is the major part of a pda and is not guaranteed. Furthermore, my screen has no problem, the dust comes from a device problem or a missconception problem of that device.

This behavior from Sony is not the one I was used with Palm and Psion my former suppliers.
My previous pda a palm m505 had a battery problem (batteries were empty after 3 days max) they did not discuss, they gave me a new palm under guarantee. I have read on that forum that people having a dust problem with the Palm Tungten T had also had a replacement.

My conclusion is, this will be my LAST Clié and could be also my last SONY device !!!

So read carefully the guarantee that comes with your pda.
