Ok, Please Help. I got the new 3955 and I already installed ActiveSync. How can I get my Contacts to download to the ipaq? I have a couple of hundred contacts. They were not in Outlook. I had a Sony Clie.

Welll let me tell you how to do it the uneducated way, I’m sure there’s a prog out there for this I was just to lazy to look for it. I had several hundred contacts in my Palm that I wanted to move over to my PC. So what I did is.
1. I moved all my contacts into the “No subject folder” (or what ever its called (its the one that has no title) on my Palm. And than I hot synced.
2. Than I re-installed my Palm Software on my desktop, and instead of Hot syncing to my Palm desktop I had it hot sync to my Outlook, I than synced with Out look
3. than I just synced my 3150 with my PC and BAMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I’m sure there’s a more intelligent way of doing it, if some one knows that would be great !!!

I think it would be easier to do a basic exprt from the Palm Desktop and then import it in Outlook.

Basically, you open your PalmDesktop, select the Address book and the select Export from the File menu.

You have a choice of comma delimited or tab-delmited. Either one would work. Then, after it is saved (remember the location!), open Outlook on the Ipaq and use File-Import. The wizard will walk you through it.

There are a couple of easy methods you can try:

1. You could try beaming them via infrared.

2. Install Pocket Mirror on your computer and then HotSync your Sony device to transfer data to Outlook. You should then synchronize your Pocket PC using ActiveSync to transfer data from Outlook to the Pocket PC. You can get Pocket Mirror at the major Palm OS download sites such as Handango. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Since you have 3955 it uses (just like 3800 series) the new OBEX format for infrared communication. In iPaq in programs select infrared receive and then select all contacts in your Clie. That's the easiest form I can think of. And then once you sync your iPaq with PC it will sync your contacts to outlook.
Let me know if this works to ordxpres@hotmail.com
