Connecting Palm M505 and Cell phone - USB adapter

I have a question about connecting my M505 to an Audiovox CDM-8300 cell phone. I have a USB hotsync cable that connects the palm to the computer. I plan to get the wireless web kit that includes a cable to connect the cell phone to the computer. Since both of these cables have USB type A male connectors, is it possible to connect the two cables together with a female-female adapter and end up with a cable that can connect the Palm with the cell phone?

I know that such adapters exist ... but I am not sure if this would this work???

No that's not the way to do that.

You can't use a USB cable on your Palm because it does not support HOST USB capabilities.

works great at 115,200. Make sure you set the baud rate on th ephone to 115,200 and switch from USB to serial connection also on the phone.
