I need some tutoring on what kind of things you can put on a SD card. Do you only put .pdb files on it or can you put .prc files on it? What is the typical usage of these cards i.e. what do most people put on these cards?

SD expansion cards can be used for just about anything. You can even transfer regular files to them such as EXE's, txt's, etc. You can't usually read those on your palm, but they can go on there. Anything you can put on your palm can also go on the card.

There are some really good programs that even allow you to load Avantgo and Quickoffice to the card. Without these programs the software doesn't sync. I always have of 5mb of free ram on the palm thanks to the card!

I have placed the modules WordToGo (620K), SheetToGo (484K), and SlideshowToGo (236K) on my SD card. Also, all files (spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, etc.) are on my SD card. DocumentsToGo (450K) and WordToGo Fonts (267K) remain resident in RAM.

One application (there may be others) that allows you to run AvantGo from your SD card is Avantage. It's not yet compatable with OS5, but then, neither is AvantGo, although I understand that AvantGo will release their upgrade very soon. Here's the link to Avantage:

Hope this helps.

You can also run just about any application from the memory card using PiDirect (http://www.pitech.com) PiDirect will mount a directory for the PalmOS. It will work with applications and databases, but it only supports read-only ifiles. However, using PiDirect in tandem with MSMount (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=29216) will allow you to use some non read-only files directly from the card, although you will probably suffer a speed decrease.
