Greetings;
Some questions first: What version of Pocket PC are you using, what OS is your desktop running, does the desktop see the usb device, What version of active sync did you download, 3,5 or 3.6?
Have you sync'd with this computer before?

Hope you can help as am getting frustrated:rolleyes:

Greetings;
I have searched microsoft and HP/Compaq's sites to no avail for info on your fault. Have you tried a soft reset? If so then you might need to perform a hard reset.

Greetings;
I have asked the experts and here is the answer:
"I believe his problem is the old 3100 he was using is a serial
based connection and Activesync is still configured for that.
His new 3600 is USB based and Activesync is still looking to
connect through the serial port connection and not the USB.
He needs to delete all his old partnerships and create a new
one for the new 3600."
Give that a try and let me know.

Which motherboard do you have?
You might need to update the motherboard drivers/USB?
