palm desktop emty !!!

for a few years i used a Palm Zire71 PDA ...
in recent years i use a smartphone and only occasionally refer to my palmdesktop on my windows computer it is version 6.2.2 ...


now, suddenly, i find the desktop to be empty ... all files empty and dated 4/5/2007.


is there any chance that backup files are hiding someplace or am i out of luck?

Usually, when an updated version of something is installed on your computer, your systemmakes a backup of it, and then copies it all into the new version.

I had this problem back with Win95 when the Win98se came out.
I just kind of sucked all the files out, and left me with a big empty system.

I found most of my files on disks I saved, but with a palm desktop, unless you manually made copies, they may be gone, unless you can get them from your handheld by changing the hot sync settings to "Handheld overwrites Desktop", and then do a sync.

Me, I opted for the coplete reboot and system restore available in Win95, then reinstalled with disks, took 6 days, and them about 6 months to learn this ---- Computing devices are subject to inheritance by version increase... so back up your data....:confused:
