For those Tungsten owners who are trying to decide whether to stick with the free Photobase or purchase Splashphoto, I decided to download the Splashphoto demo after tiring of waiting for Photobase to s-l-o-w-l-y load jpegs from my SD card. Splashphoto is so much faster, it's like night and day. If you keep photos in internal RAM, the difference is negligible, but on the card it makes a huge difference.

I've tried them both on a SanDisk and a Lexar 64MB SD card, and though the Lexar card is much faster when copying the files to the card via Hotsync, they both load the pictures to the screen in about the same amount of time (less than a second). The Lexar is perhaps slightly faster.

I don't own any stock nor am I affliliated financially with any of the above vendors (except that they now have some of my hard-earned lucre).
