Hi,

Since upgrading one of our users to Windows XP Pro, the ActiveSync application is reporting the it cannot connect to the device. I have reinstalled version 3.5 (Latest Build) of Active Sync and when I place the IPAQ in it's cradle (USB connection) it recognises that a device has been inserted but is unable to connect to it.

Is this a compatibilty problem with XP???

Any ideas would be most helpful.

Thanks:

Greetings;

I have a computer at home that runs XP Home and both the wife and I connect our iPAQs to it. At first the Active sync program would not recognize the USB port but XP came thru with a message about seeing a new device and it took care of the problem. That was two or three months ago and we have had no other problems. I will ask the MIS guys here at work to see if they have seen the problem with XP pro.

Thanks for the reply.

I could try deleting the USB ports and letting XP re-detect them after a reboot.

Any other info would be great.

Thanks.

I fixed a similar problem by plugging my sync/charge cable into another USB port on my desktop.

XP detected a "new" device and "installed" the correct driver for it.
