--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just got my T|T today (Tuesday)and installed most of the stuff I needed prior to heading off to work. I initially got the T|T to communicate with my PC without any problems and all my Internet programs worked great. I didn't set it up with my T68 while at home because I have no cell service at my house. When I tried to set it up at work, where I do have service, I couldn't get Bluetooth to work. Apparently, somehow, the Bluetooth drivers got corrupted. I can't figure out how I did that. I'm going to have to try to reinstall the Bluetooth drivers, but I'm curious to know if there are any programs that cause problems with Bluetooth. I installed about 10 programs after getting Bluetooth working. The only program I could think of that MAY have ANYTHING to do with communications that I installed was ePocrates, which installs a program called AutoUpdate. Anyone know if this could be the culprit?

Bluetooth works between my Tungsten and SonyEricsson T68, but EVERY time I want to connect, I have to add the SonyEricsson as a trusted device. I've downloaded the latest phone drivers, but this still occurs. It takes several steps to get the connection up each time. This is quite frustrating. Anyone else have a similar problem or know a solution?

I use my TT to connect with my T68i, and about 40% of the time connecting to VersaMail or WebPro is flawless and wonderful. The other 60% of the time I get an error message that either I have a "Faulty serial cable or modem" (through VersaMail or WebPro) or it says my phone "isn't ready to accept a connection at this time" (through PhoneLink or the BT pref's settings). Then I have to turn my phone's "Discoverable" setting on (for 3 minutes). And then it usually connects. As a last resort, sometimes I have to delete the pairings and re-pair. But when I dial through the Address Book, it connects every time.
Funny, huh?
I've been testing a few hypotheses out first in trying to find out just what's at fault (in regards to whom I should seek support from), but when I saw your post, I just had to show my solidarity with your pain and suffering and confusions.
I'm with you, Brother!
It's difficult when people either have the TT or the T68i, but not both.
TT owners!! Go get the T68i so I can get more feedback on just how exactly this BT technology is going to save the world!

Is it a TT software issue or bluetooth?
My batting average with a cable and a Motorola P270C is but 40% success on 1st try when retrieving e-mail or logging onto the web. Perseverance does pay off but it is consistently inconsistent on the connection with the "Faulty serial cable or modem" error 60% of the time.
Patience is a virtue with these new tools. Got to have them however!
To solve the problem of not needing to set T68 as a trusted device every time is to paired the device from your T68. By doing this, your T68 will be put into the trusted device list (check that to make sure). After doing that everything works great. Once again, DO NOT PAIRED THE TWO DEVICE FROM TT, BUT START INITIATING FROM YOUR T68. That is what I did and it works great now. At first I try to pair the two device, starting the pairing from my TT, and it won't add t68 into the trusted device, causing the problem of having to pair again everytime the two try to connect.
Hope that helps :).
wierd.
I have been reading all these posts about the TT not working with the T68(i)
My TT works flawlessly with my T68i. I did have some initial troubles with figuring out all the bluetooth stuff but once I had the latest drivers and added my T68i to my trusted devices on my TT then added my TT to my paired devices on my T68i I had no problems, I just leave my T68i "Blue tooth operation mode" set to ON
I can use it for surfing the internet dialing or sending sms' :)

Mine works fine too and I have a T68M. You have to make sure that the Palm's bluetooth is set to "on" and follow the pairing instructions on Palm's web site (ie use the TT phonelink app!)
I have occaisonally had "serial link timeout" problems but that's usually because the phone closes the bluetooth connection and the TT still thinks its open. A soft reset always clears this.
I wish the stack was a little more reliable myself, but it behaves like a v1.0 protocol stack with very little exception handling. So, I end up doing soft resets every now and then. Hopefully, palm's OS5.1 upgrade will bug fix too...
