Greetings;
When i was using my iPAQ I used the iTask program to shut down any active programs to save power while the unit was off. I was sad to see that the Dell does not have the same option.
But I found that if you goto Start>Settings>system and start the Switcher Bar program it places three shortcut icons on the top bar. One for power one for brightness and then one is the swithcer bar program. It gives you the options to exit current program, exit all and exit the switcher bar program. Works good. You could always goto the memory tab in the settings and shut the running programs down from there.
Just a FYI
