I need a new rechargeable color PDA to replace my broken Visor Deluxe. I must have a good keyboard. I already have a Stowaway keyboard compatible with the Prism.
Prism: total cost for unit + extra sync cable: ~$165 refurb (Harmony Computers)
90 day warranty, OS 3.5, no extra software.
m130: total cost for unit + extra sync cable + keyboard: ~$225, if Palm follows through with free Palm keyboard instead of $50 rebate. (Price based on officemax.com $50 off $250 coupon; also get a $25 gift card if ordered by 12/21.)
standard warranty (1 year?), OS 4.1, comes with Docs to Go
I like the idea of a new unit, but my concerns are:
1. The m130's smaller screen. (It is smaller, right?)
2. The uncertainty with regard to the keyboard: I may not like it as much as the Stowaway, and considering the fact that it is out of stock at the Palm store, I don't even know if I can get one.
What do you guys think?

The screen is smaller, but since they are the same resolution, the m130's seems sharper.
The siply Palm Keyboard type thing is the same design as the Stowaway, my friends have to problems with it! Try some electronics store like RadioShack or BestBuy or CircuitCity or Staples or OfficeMax or other ones for it, my buddy got his at BestBuy!

I was in the same situation as you, I had a visor Deluxe, the IR stoped working twice in a row, and by then I whated a color model. I comepared the two, and I choose the m130 because the bundled software. I also liked it because of the
smaller screen=higher reselution.
Love my m130 and have no regrets about buying it.

The 130 is a fantastic pda. One thing you might want to look into instead though, is the 515. It is even better than the 130 and there are a lot of specials running on it right now. Definitely worth a few dollars more.

Even better than the m515 is the Sony sj30. It has a higher resolution screen, more memory, a better processor, has plenty of bundled software, and costs a bit less than the 515.

Are you confused yet?
When it comes down to the wire, you are the one that needs to make the decision. Although, I would like to personally extend an invitation to spend your money for you.
You will find a lot of good people here, but we all have our opinions and our favorite pdas. Therefore, its pretty hard to get a real answer on which one to buy. It sounds like you have it narrowed down pretty well. Close your eyes and pick one.
Gook luck!

I was also tossing up between the Visor Prism and the m130 (and initially the m515). I decided against the 515 because I didn't like the sound of the SUDS and GLC problems the m500 series seemed prone to. I was purchasing this PDA to replace my Psion 5mx which had suffered a screen cable breakage which I had discovered had a high incidence in these machines and so I was keen to avoid any PDA that had potential problems.
I decided on the m130 after studying posts on message boards for a while beforehand and getting an idea of what they were like. I also asked the opinion of someone who owned both machines.
The screen flicker in the Prism in particular put me off this unit.
A thread on the m500 message board suggests that Visor is discontinuing the springboard models.

Of course they're discontinuing the Springboards. The other side of the coin is, however, that they'll go super-cheap (unless they already are), because the Treo's only use SD/MMC.
