I bought a used Network with a very strange keyboard (I did not noticed that when buying it). It seems to be half French, half German. When I tape on some letters or figures on the keyboard, the Network does not write the correspondent letters or figures on the screen. I tried with a French OS or a German OS but with both of them, there are still some keys which do not fit. I suppose that the only solution is to change the keyboard? Is there a software solution? If I need to change the keyboard, is it possible through Psion assistance? Is it expensive? Did anybody meet this problem?

It sounds as though you may have a Swiss keyboard which is very strange as we only produced those for 1 particular customer in Switerland earlier this year.

We did produce 3 versions of the OS to go with this keyboard - Swiss German, Swiss French and Swiss Italian, but unfortunately this is bespoke to our customer and has a number of unique software modifications.

Is the leather panel standard?

Psion do not offer keyboards for sale as a spare part but our service centres around the world can buy this part from us. Our repair centre in the UK charges a flat rate for aall repairs and it would therefore be an expensive route for you to do this, but charges do vary from non-Psion repair centres so you would need to check it out.

Our distributor in Switzerland which is where I see you are based is Excom AG. They carry out repairs on Psion products.

Hi,
Don't want to insult your intelligence, but have you made sure you haven't accidently switched on the num lock?
I know when I did this for the first time, it really threw me and I was just about to send it away for repair when I finally realised!
To toggle Num Lock on and off, press Shift+Menu.

Gary
