Palm.com says that the m130 requires a PC running Windows 95/98/ny 4.0/2000/Me/XP and it also requires a USB port (Win 95 and NT, and systems without USB ports, require the Palm Hotsync Cradle-Serial).

But my computer with Win 95, has two USB ports and it is one of the very, very few computers which run Win 95 and have USB ports. Therefore, the Palm m130 will work with my computer, right?

Get the serial cradle. Or a new OS.

Just beause the ports are there does not mean they will work. I am using a PC with Win NT 4.0. It has USB ports but they won't work with Win NT.

There was a version of 95 (95c I think) that had USB support, but it only worked with a few devices, and even then it was flacky.

palm boy's post describes the only two options.

If I buy the serial cradle, I will be able to Sync, right?

cmon, give him a break. He doesn't want to spend his money on a serial cradle without knowing that it will work. that's smart thinking

A better long term solution would be to upgrade to Win98 or above. You will still be able to use Win98 if you bust (or upgrade from) the m130. Not so for the serial cradle.

I already tried HotSync'ing a Visor Deluxe (USB) on a Win95 machine with USB ports - no can do. Worked perfectly once I upgraded to Win98. Perhaps you can find Win98 upgrade disks on eBay for cheap. "Cheap" was your goal, right?

Also, you can only go 57.6K on serial Sync, you can go 230.4K on USB! Setting serial Sync higher will actually make it go slower!
