Where to Start in building applications?

I am new to this and need to know where to start. I am somwhat efficient in vb6 and wonder if I could make apps in vb6 and convert them into a windowsce compatible program. Also (how this all started) is that I have a small but useful windows program that I want on my pocket pc. How can I put this onto my pocketpc? the basics of program are less than 8mb and I have 64 so I know there is room but How do I get it onto the program.
