INTELLISYNC Lite ISSUE:

As many users, I use MS Outlook (XP) to sync with my Clie T665c. but anytime i make changes either on the PC or the Handheld, i have to CONFIRM the changes. THis keeps me from Unattended hotsyncs. I know that i should be alerted for hotsync conflicts, but whenever i add, delete or change information, this confirmation window is really annoyng. Has anyone encountered this? how do i solve it. I am looking for my old Palm III CD where i have the PocketMirror Standard which worked perfectly.

HELP!

Try opening the Intellisync window and click on the Advance button and select ignore conflicts or one of the other options.

Still no luck. anyway, I want to be notified of CONFLICTS. What I dont need is to Hotsync to stop to "confirm" changes!

Thanks anyway

I know what you mean.

Try writing Sony Tech support on it. I'm sure it's a thorn in many peoples side and the more they hear about it the better the chances are that they will make a patch for it.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS and MERRY NEW YEAR!:D

My intellisync lite also keeps showing a window for confirmation when I make changes in the schedule, address and notes on the CLIE or my Outlook. That's rather annoying .. having need to click "CONFIRM" everytime I HotSync. There may be some settings I can tweak to disable this, but until now I am still unable to do so. I currently have a Sony Clie T415 and I'm having the same problem because I"m using Outlook 2000. I couldn't disable the confirmation because my intellisync lite configuration does not have a tab to disable that feature!! (see the attachment: mysetting.jpg is what I have. Other intellisyncs have the tab as shown in "theirsetting.gif")

So did anybody here got this problem solved?? it's a pain in the ass!!!!

Contacted Sony, they were not sure what I was talking about (or were they?), they refered me to the vendor, IntelliSync. Contacted IntelliSync, and they told me that this is the intended behaviour for the "lite" version, and if I need to surpress it, I had to upgrade it to the full version. There is a check box in the full version to automatically resolve conflict without prompting.

Gave them a piece of my mind, I am not going to load that crap-ware into my PC, that intensionally annoys users by asking "Confirm?" for each conflict, until they pull every strand of their hair or pay they ransom they asked for!

The resolution:
Uninstall IntelliSync, and loaded my original Pocket Mirror from my Palm IIIx CD, updated to the latest version via the web, and hey presto! Everything work!

Cheers for Pocket Mirror! Great software!

I contacted Intellisync directly and told me that exact lame excuse. I procceded to do as you did, since i am a Palm IIIc user. I would suggest Sony to consider not using these guys (Intellysync) again. Pocket Mirror is quite better and tranparent.

INtellisync is just another service problem that SONY has created and refuses to solve. Nobody can come out with new models as fast as SONY and nobody can create problems for their service techs as fast as SONY.

Then for most of us no matter what we do the "Ransom" must be paid if we want to remove this interferrence.

Intellisync = $70

Pocket Morror Pro = $50

Pocket Mirror Standard = $40

Well that sucks.

There is no real reason based on customer satisfaction why SONY allowed this "Lite" version to perform one of the most basic functions of a PDA without that type of interference.

It is nothing more than an industry revenue generator. Just like not being able to connect to a PC's ethernet LAN via the hotsync USB cradle. One should be able to print from the cradle and surf. And it is possible, but we can't, we need to buy expensive hardware like Blue Tooth or IrDa interfaces. No one else can write a program to do this because SONY holds the licensing on it's USB protocol.

SONY makes a better machine, is able to keep up with customer demand for new hardware innovations and market trends, but fails miserably in the software interface for it's machines.

I bought a great machine that is crippled by it's software.

I have already a license for PocketMirror Std. INCLUDED with my old PALM IIIc, so no ransom for me. :-)

The Intellisync software is a real letdown. As a former Palm IIIX user with Pocket Mirror, I was really disappointed.

Intellisync provides a much less seamless hotsync with Outlook. Of the many wrinkles, one that bothers me is the failure to put location entries for calendar entries in Outlook in the handheld. With Pocket Mirror, locations are shown in the handheld calendar in parentheses. There are many other rough spots.

Sony tech support told me that Chapura was about to go out of business, and that Pocket Mirror would not be available much longer. Does anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I assumed that Pocket Mirror was capable of determining the latest entry or change for data, and resolving a conflict between the handheld and desktop by assuming the latest entry was the right one. Am I wrong about that? I don't think any version of Intellisync does that, if I understand the literature correctly.

Anyway...I'm a first timer to this forum, and appreciate everyone's help and comments. I'm going to dustoff my old copy of Pocket Mirror and install it as soon as I'm through posting this message.

Many many thanks to all of you for helping me resolve this frustrating problem.

Just a quick follow up to my earlier message...

I just got off the phone with Chapura tech support. The support person was knowledgeable, courteous, and patient. I'm now happily hotsyncing using Pocket Mirror. (Thanks, Evelyn!)

She was also adament that Chapura was not about to go out of business. I hope by passing along the comment I received from the Sony tech support operator, I haven't fueled a false rumor.

Viva Chapura and Pocket Mirror.

YOur experience is identical to my own.
The support folks at Chapura are exceptional and the Chapura products are a cut above.
Sales of their new Key Contacts software are doing very well and I look forward to Chapura being involved with the Palm OS for many years to come.
