I just upgraded from a Jornada 548 to an iPaq 3850. I'm trying to figure out how to change the system sounds to ones I like instead of the ones Bill likes. On the Jornada under the sounds and notifications area is a tab for sounds. The iPaq doesn't have that tab. Anyone know how to change the sounds?

The only thing I can think of is as following....
Make sure in your PC you have the option to view all files (sytem and hidden) enabled. Then browse your pda (from pda screen and in windows folder find the sounds you want to change...specificaly their names. Then write them down. Once you have your list completed - on your pc rename your new sounds with the corresponding names to ones on your iPaq. Once completed - drag all files to windows folder on your pda. It will ask you if you want to overwrite - select yes. That should work. Remember that it will be only a temporary solution until you HARD reset your pda. Since the whole OS is loaded into ROM memory of your pda - the default sounds would be in place....but as I said - that will happen only if you need to hard reset your pda to factory defaults.
Good luck.

I would just copy the sound files into iPaq's windows & change the sounds accordingly in Settings, Sounds & Notifications. I've got really wierd sound on my iPaq & used as alarms, they're loud enough & strange enough to wake me from a deep slumber. For other events, I'll just choose muted ones. You can even make them yourself. They're just wav files, anyway.
