How do I connect to a remote XP machine usin terminal servises. I thought you'd just plug in the IP and connect, but I always get a connection time out message.

Hi, thats all I do. Have you go a terminal server running on the XP box? As I don't think Terminal server is turned on by default or if it even comes with the OS.

In XP Pro (I assume it's the same on Home edition) right click on my computer on the desktop. Select properties. Then choose Remote tab and select Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. This should help. I don't think you need to install any additional software but just in case - but if I remember correctly on XP installation disk there's a program called CE terminal services.
