The Alltel wiresless store has a non-functioning 7135 that I got to see this week. It is really going to be great. I like the feel and the size is good. The buttons have a great feel. I really think this is the one to have. Sprint has the real-live I330 from samsung and it is very temptiing. If it had a better screen and expansion I would be very tempted to get it now. I has a virtual grafitti screen and runs at 66mgz and feels good in your hand. I thought the colors were a little washed-out though but didn't have a chance to see if you could control the intensity or brightness. I understand they have a clamshell coded the m330 than will be thinner than the kyo 7135 and has been shown in Korea with an unknow release date in the US. can hardly wait for the Kyo to come out. it just has the best and most features.

Coincidentally, my old StarTac broke the day after the Samsung i330 was released by Sprint (really), so I ended up getting one. I got tired of carrying around both a phone and a Palm (which my job requires), and I needed analog roaming (which ruled out the Treo 300), so this was as close to perfect as I could get right now. I just wish the price wasn't so high.

I've been impressed so far. As a phone, the major downside obviously is the lack of real numeric buttons. As a Palm, the screen is a bit squished (much narrower than my m505), and the lack of expandability might be a problem in the future (although it does have 16MB). I guess there will be those who will criticize the lack of high-resolution color, but that is not important to me. There are contrast and brightness controls.

Overall, it's a very nice package. I'd be very interested in communicating with others who have this phone, and their impressions and tips.

Regards,

Julian

I have acquired the Kyocera 7135 from AllTell. I had to wait in line for a few days in order to purchase the phone. AllTell has exclusivity on this phone's deployment. They are getting these units in spurts.
I was very surprised since they are always behind. Verizon should have gotten this phone but they are now talking january (maybe)!
Price tag $499 for a two-year plan.
The 7135 is simply AWESOME! Brilliant screen, great clarity, ample screen real estate for PDA, Easy access to Web Connection, Form-factor well thought out (at times feel like a pager). It synchronizes (Palm HotSynch) flawlessly out of the box from cradle and irHot synch. I use Mac OS-X and Office x. Conduit Settings for Entourage HotSynch worked without a hitch once they are set to override handheld.
The 7135 fits perfectly to the belt (sometimes i forget that it's there)...The holster also clips comfortably inside a jacket pocket.
Finally, the 7135 maintains a very tight integration to the Address book. Something that I did not notice with its predecessor.
Get one if you can!

I have been trying to get one. so far here in Michigan I have been unable to find one I tried to put in an order at the local Alltel store but they didn't know when they were going to get them in. I have tried to order one from the Kyocera "get Organized web site and they tell me I have to have a zip code where they have service. I don't see where that should matter if you pick up their total freedom plan. Can you tell me your zip code of the store you got it from so I can order one? I have been going nuts. I sold my Tungsten as soon as I found out they were released and now I can't get one. I have even considered other smartphones but know I wouldn't be happy with any other. Thanks for your help

Thanks for the info. I tried using the zipcodes and it takes me right into the "Buy" tract but when you get to the check out screen it uses the city of the zipcode where it's available rather than allowing me to put my address in. I am going to call the alltel stores to see if they will sell me one. the only plan available on the website are the total freedom plans so it shouldn't make a difference where I'm from and then I can switch the plan to my local store. thanks again.

That sounds like a good plan.
