Dear all,
I have just bought Zire. Before and after charging the battery, the screen says "use stylus to tap center of target". That's it.
There is no other instruction. I can't complete the setup or operate hotsync. I have tried to recharge again but the problem remains. During the charging, the adaptor is still "cold". I suspect the problem is in the adaptor.

Any comment? your help would be very much appreciated. I am a new user to Palm, I am really annoyed with this problem. what should i do????

When the screen tells you to tap in the center of the screen it is part of the setup. Tap in the center of the x, and then an the center of a couple more x's. This is called calibrating the digitizer, and will help your touch screen be more accurate to your stylus. After you do this calibrating the Zire should run you through an introduction on grafitti and general instructions.

Don't worry too much about it, Palms are very user friendly and pretty hard to crash.

Let us know if this works or if you need more help.

When posting, there are two places for smilies. One is for the entire post. This option is above the text box for the message. To the left of this same box is another box with smilies that can be put anywhere in the message.

For example: :) :( :o ;) :p

I put this one :D for the entire message. It is in the upper left of the post.
