I have recently upgraded my PC with a new M/board + CPU, Reinstalled WinXP and all software (including OfficeXP). Finally I reinstalled ActiveSync 3.6 and try to sync my iPaq 3650 with USB cable. No Luck. I get the message "Synchronization error" shortly after it pick up the device name in Activesync and gets disconnected.

When I delete the partnership and define a "GUEST" partnership, it works fine, I can see the device and browse/copy files to/from it, but I cannot sync anything (the way guest is suppose to work!).

How do I fix this? Where is the problem? I have removed Activesync, rebooted, remove the USB devices(from Hardware setup), rebooted, install USB drivers again, installed ActiveSync again. No difference, Same result. CANNOT SYNC WITH A PARTNERSHIP DEFINED??

Any Ideas?

I'm using ROM 2.20 on the iPaq.

THanks

I thought that a GUEST was only going to allow you to transfer files. It's when you set up a partnership that you are able to sych things up.

Bert,

I'm having similar problems with an XDA pocketpc 2002 device. I used to be able to sync fine, then suddenly just before xmas it all went wrong, now I cant sync.

I start to get connected, "Looking for changes", then suddenly a sync error and it disconnects.

Guest access and connection, as you say, work fine, no problems.
