I tried both DHCP and manual settings. The card blinks but I get a timeout. Any tips or tricks? diem 12-23-2002, 03:28 PM - try setting the AP to use channel 1. - make sure you enter the SSID of your WLAN in the Lucent driver's 'Network name' parameter. - Disable WEP if none of this gets things going, I suggest downloading FlFinger and try pinging the IP address of your access point. starfire 12-25-2002, 08:28 AM YAN, I finally got it working - tried a couple of different settings on the W-A-P, setting the channel to 1 was one of them, and playing around with the card power management bit. Once I got it going, I could change the channel to another and had no problems. Weird. Turning off the card power management and lowering the sleep setting actually improved the speed (the ping response time). In fact, I am posting this using this wireless connection to my broadband provider! Your tips on your site was helpful too. This card is does not consume as much power as my other Linksys card which I use in the PocketPC/ Windows Universe. diem 12-26-2002, 02:34 PM funny that, I had to 'fiddle' with the channel setting to get things off the ground, so to speak. Maybe its just that doing so resets the AP? Power management does increase ping times, because it reduces the amount of radio section usage. Yup, no two ways about it, the Lucent Hermes chipset beats the Intersil Prism every way you cut it. PDA Street
