I am in Australia and just bought a new Treo 270 . It has no graffiti capability as it comes with a keyboard. But on the instructions it shows that one must make a scribble sign to activate the shortcys (template text). But nothing is said about how to activiate those shortut texts with the keyboard, seeing as I cannot make the scribble sign. Can someone please enlighten me.

Another thing when I type an email if I abbreviate the word "your" with "yr , it defaults to the word "year" although that is not a shortcut text that has been entered, so I wonder why it converts to the word year. Any idea please ?
Thanks, Gerry in Australia

Hi Gerry

To make the squiggle sign to activate a shortcut, press the letter s on the keyboard and then press the number zero key. This will drop down a list. I believe the last one is the squiggle.

The Treo is equipped with 'auto-correct', so when you type certain words , the Treo will resolve them to what it thinks they should be (im resolves to I'm, youre to you're etc, etc). As you have experienced, this can be a little annoying.

If you use a program such as CorrectHack (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/pilotgearsw/correcthack.html) , this will allow you a degree of customisation.

Good luck :)

Ps. yr should resolve to your.
