I am having problems sending and recieving information by infrared. About 1/3 of the time I am able to beem a contact if I hold the port right next to the recieving PDA. I have not yet been able to recieve from another PDA. All attempts at recieving start OK. The Axim states who it is receiving information from, but the sending PDA always stops saying it is unable to detect another device. All of my co-workers have Palm based devices. Have any of you had this problem with send/recieve on Palm and/or PPC?

You need to install a program called Peacemaker. I don't know if it comes with the Axim. I know it comes with other devices such as the iPAQ. You can also download the program at http://www.conduits.com . The free version will do contacts. However, you will need to purchase the Pro version if you plan to beam schedules, tasks, notes, and data files. I've been using Peacemaker Pro for over a year and it has worked great. Not only has it helped in beaming to Palm devices. I have been able to beam to cell phones.

Before downloading the program from the suggested site, you might want to look on your Axim CD to see if you already have it.

Thanks for the information!

I did not see peacemaker on the CD. I'll give it a try. This is my first experience with a Pocket PC PDA. So far I like it a lot better than the Palm OS (which I had for several years).
