HotSync Taking Too Long

Please help.

I am currently hot syncing my TT with outlook using the pocket monitor provided by Palm. It takes 10 minutes just to update my address book and another 10 minutes to sync my calander. I have approx. 1000 contacts but I'm not sure why the process takes so long.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Are you using a serial connection or USB?

USB. It seems to be working now. With hotsyncs only taking a minute or so.

The first time you sync it takes a lot longer to copy all the stuff over.

Not sure whether this makes any difference or not but you can change the "speed" settings in the connection setup dialog in Hotsync from 57600 to like 230K. It's probably for when you use a serial connection.

If you have the PPK beta driver installed, un-enable it and try to hotsync. The driver has been tied to slow hotsyncing.

1000 contacts is a lot but it still shoudn't take that long to HotSync. Looks like you have it working correctly now though.

All of a sudden my TT is having hotsync problems (Win XP, USB direct connect to PC).

When I press the hotsync button, the Palm does a soft reset (I hear two tones on the PC). If I go to Start>Palm>Hotsync manager and then try to hotsync, all is well.


Any thoughts?
