Hi -

Just an FYI for anyone in the market, I saw the M500 selling for $99 today at Best Buy.

Looks like a good price for anyone looking for a monochrome PDA. Particularly good when you consider the Zire is $99 and has 1/4 the memory, no expansion card, no cradle and no backlight.

Is that in US$$??? (In Canada, US$99 = CN$159 + 15% (tax) = CN$183.00) Good deal???

Yes, that's USD. I'm in Boston and that's a 5% tax so a total of $105.00 (USD). It's a good deal here, particulary when they sell for $149 (USD) on Palm's website and are still selling for $199 at CompUSA and again, given what you get with the M500 for $99 versus the Zire at $99.

Also, if you all ready have a Palm with the universal connector and just wanted to buy an extra USB cradle for work/home, you'd pay $50. so if you wanted to, you could spend the extra $50 and give a new Palm to your significant other.

$99 is a great price for an m500! I'll stop by my local Circuit City tomorrow. I know some people who could use an m500. Thanks for the tip!

OldBlue - It's actually at BestBuy for $99 not Circuit City. Sorry for the confusion. I originally posted with the wrong store name and subsequently edited the message to correct it.

Glad the tip was helpful to you.

At $99 I would not even consider an extended warranty:D

to pcastric

it's $247.99 at future shop web site +15% tax =$285 CAD. Which is funny since FS is owned by Best Buy.

I didn't know that!

The last time I was in a Best Buy was in Denver Colorado early last year.

Its not surprising to learn that FS is owned by Best Buy.

Here in Ottawa, we do have a number of FS around town - the very first FS is located on Merivale Road here in Ottawa. What's more strange is that a new strip mall was built a clock away from the FS store over a year ago with Best Buy being one of the new stores.

Whats really strange is that a Loebs grocery store was opened last November while the new Best Buy store still has not opened its doors as yet. You'd swear that FS would not want any other similar type of store to be built so close in order to stop the competition - sort of reminds you of the thousands of Tim Hortons being built - in some cases only 1-block apart!
