Hello Psion land people. I have been battling this afternoon with my Boss's Psion. I have just finished copying his hand written address book into excell and am now trying to imput this as a contacts list in the "Data" aplication on the Psion.
I have saved my excel file as a CSV and then draged it into the the Psion\documents
when I click convert it tries to convert and fails. I have tried changing the file type in the From and To boxes but the only options I have are for "Text (MS-DOS)" and "Text (Windows ANSI)" and "Series 5 Word" and no combination of these works.
If I "copy only" it also says access denied.

This is probably a very simple problem but could anyone give me some pointers.

Many Thanks,
Tim

Open a blank new Data file by pressing [Fn] and tapping the Data icon.

From the menus, select -

"File > More > Import text file..." then navigate to your CSV file and import it.

Thank you Mike,
I am still being stumped however. in that I cant get the file from the pc to the psion. when I drag and drop the file (viewing this from psiwin) I get an error message:

"Cannot copy file....... Access is denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use"

The psion is empty of files except for those that came loaded on it.
The documents folder does not apear to be read only
The file in question is not in use.

any idea why i am being denied access?

Thank You,
Tim.

This sounds like a PC problem - in particular you cannot manipulate the file because it is still in use or the application you saved it with is still running and using the file. Try rebooting the PC and then try to copy the CSV file to the Psion.
