Axim 400 came yesterday, 1/3 (Ordered 12/24). Came with folding keyboard, 2nd 3100 battery, case, etc. All looks great. Had a small problem with the CD, it would not autorun or run startup from it's root. Had to go to the subfolders to install S/W on host and on the Axim. No real problem, but it should be right.

I have two cd drives on pc and both 'failed'. The cd for the folding keyboard driver however autoran fine.

Soo, this morning over coffee I call Dell to make it right. What a zoo! A long story but the final answer from them (in very bad English) was that in order to get a replacement CD I was to send the defective one back! In addition the Supervisor was 'in a meeting'. When told by them that this was their policy on bad cds my angry reply was that it was my policy not to do stupid things such as spending time and postage on a 10 cent issue, told him to send a replacement ... and hung up.

Thanks for listening ... Bill

Dell, what the hell is wrong with you. Leave some room, doesn't take much, for the sales and cusomer service to use common sense and reason, over policy.

This is a classic example of corporate policy, or lack of training of their staff, making the costly mistake of trading 10cents worth of plastic for a potential long term, dedicated consumer.

Excuse my ranting, but I see this happen everywhere I go, and I get so irritated. I will tell dell of what I think of this policy if I have to call for a reason of my own.
