My Palm m100 ran out of juice over the summer. When I replaced the batteries, and did a restore, everything seemed to be working properly, but my Date Book will not open. (The icon just gives me the apps screen.) I uploaded DualDate, which works, but I am still unable to get Date Book to sync with my PC. Any ideas on how to restore/rebuild/nuke the old Date Book and replace with a functioning one?

Sounds like it is time to reinstall the Palm Desktop.

I just reread your question and it appears I missed the point. YOU seem to be having the problem on the Palm with the DateBook Icon not taking you to the date book. If that is the right problem my earlier answer will help but you have another problem. You sould go into your Palm Folder/User Name/Backup and double click the "datebookDB.PDB" this will put it in your Palm Installer and load it to your Palm on the next HotSync. Once you get the data on the Palm you may have a happy ending but I can't guarantee that.

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried a hard reset, deleted the datebookBD file from my palm and re-imported an earlier version of the same file and "presto", I'm back in business. Thanks for the help!

Hi
I just posted a problem similar to this one and was when I found this thread I gave the solution a try. Except when I look for the datebookDB.PDB I don't see any sign of it. A search of the Palm directory does not turn it up. Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks,
Jim

Jimboh,
If you are using an app like McFile or myWorkBench you may need to change settings to show DataBase files. It may be set to show only applications.

Thanks Doc,
I was using Internet explorer after the Install tool didn't turn up the file. See nothing on my laptop. Any thoughts? I have my original Palm CD. Will that buy me anything. I don't see the file on there either.
Cheers,
Jim

Jim,
That file will only appear on your Palm and in the BackUp directory of your Palm on the PC. The link below will take you to Handango where you can download the McFile app on TRIAL. Load it to the Palm on HotSync and you will be able to find your file.
Doc

McFile (http://www.handango.com/PlatformSearch.jsp?jid=B4BF1326B93F9BE4C735C33A96A F233C&optionId=1_1_2&platformId=1&siteId=1&txtSearch=McFile&zsortParams=true)

Thanks again Doc,
I downloaded McFile and it's a nice app. However what do I want to do about the datebook app. I can see it and its properties but if I delete where am I going for a backup of the app itself?

Cheers,
Jim
