Hello board,
I bought the e740 about a month ago and I love it. My wife loved it to, so we got her the e310 from Costco for $330 bucks! After a $50.00 rebate the cost will be $250. Much, Much Cheaper than the e740.
We are Pharmacists and use our PocketPCs for reference and scheduling mainly. We also enjoy a few games to pass the time. Everything seems to run just fine on both machines.
The e740 can access my Linksys router and enables me to browse web sites, pretty cool. I still find myself at the desktop though. The compact flash card slot is great, more memory and I use it like a floppy disk drive to move stuff back and forth from my camera, desktop and handheld. The compact flash port was very important to me when I was shopping around for a Handheld computer.
The e310 feels better in the hand than the e740, and it seems to run all the programs that my e740 does with the same proficiency.
If I had to do it over again, I'd still get the e740, but only because I'm a huge sucker for gadgets, bells and whistles! For a person who is more practical the e310 is a screaming good buy.
