I posted this on the old Visor Village board shortly before the revamp and thought it might be missed. So, here it is again. Hope this is alright and hope that someone out there can help...

I'm hoping that someone out there can help me set a database with Thinkbd, either by some simple (!!) step-by-step instructions or (even better) maybe someone already has a similar db set up for themselves.
I've looked through the manual but by the time I'm done, my head is spinning and I lost contact with someone who was giving me some help. Of course, Thinkdb helpdesk don't have the resources to help as much as I'd like.

Anyway, the situation is that I have collection of 1300 vinyl LPs, which I'd like to stop listing on a simple Word doc, and put into a db. The format I would like is to have all the groups displayed on the first screen (or maybe an alphabetical index first).

eg
Beatles, The
Crosby, Stills and Nash
Dylan, Bob
Grateful Dead, The
(etc)

Selecting one of those groups would take me to page listing all the LPs I have by that group.

eg
Freewheelin Bob Dylan
The Times They Are A Changing
Bringing It All Back Home
Highway 61 Revisted
(etc)

Selecting one of the LPs would take me a page giving info about that LP (tracks, date of release, etc.)

I'd like to be able to search for a particular group, LP or track.

Some people have posted some pre-prepared "my list of albums" Thinkdbs on the net - though these are only for those complex disc things ;-) – but they are always in the format of separate listings for each LP:

eg
Dylan, Bob Freewheelin Bob Dylan
Dylan, Bob The Times They Are A Changing
Dylan, Bob Bringing It All Back Home
Dylan, Bob Highway 61 Revisted
(etc.)

which is not what I'm after.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated (I've got v2.5 of Thinkdb with Desktop).
