outlook synch multiplier

any help gratefully etc...

m505/palm 4.0/win2k/outlook2k/

when i alter a meeting on my palm and then synch i start to multiply the occurence in outlook. recently had 12 occurences of one item.

NOT set as recurring! (tried that)

any clever thoughts?

Are you using Pocket Mirror as the conduit to Outlook?

(showing ignorance) it's certainly there and i set it up to do so...... i need to have my secretary be able to add events from her pc as well as me from the palm. synchronise is the setting. (not multiply!)

You might want to visit the Chapura.com web site to see if this problem shows up in there support files. Or give them a call at 251-470-1979.
Also if you have not looked at your HotSync log to see what it says is taking place I would do that before calling. THe folks at Chapura are great.

thanks. had already checked this but the FAQ is good. looks like i need the professional version. unless anyone has a patch/workaround etc????

I think you are right the Professional Version is a solution.
It is almost impossible to get a "work around" relating to any conduit issue.

There is a setting in Pocket Mirror that most likely causing the duplicate entries. Under "Conflict resolution" change the setting from "duplicate entries" to either "outlook overights handheld" or "handheld overights outlook" whichever suits your needs. That should solve your problem. I use the Professional version, so I'm not sure if this setting is available in the standard version.

nope, conflict resolution only seems a "professional" issue. saving up for a version!!

as ever we hope such things might be covered in the regular issue as i'm sure it is a common problem.

YOur profile does not give your LOCATION. If you are in the states I still encourage you to call Chapura. They are very nice to all of us who got our software with our Palm.

have emailed chapura support. will keep you updated.

settings now "handheld overwrites" but this stops secretary adding appointments.... and doesn't delete multiples already existing.

YOu can use an application called UNDUPE from Stevens Creek Software to remove the dups on the Palm then do handheld overwrites PC.

got an email back the next day which says:

Please download and run the following file:
http://download.chapura.com/util/delcaldupes.exe.

When you run that file it will give you to buttons "List duplicates" and
"Delete duplicates". Click on List duplicates first, and after it finishes
click on delete duplicates. Then change your synchronization action to
Outlook overwrites handheld. Then after that sync finishes. Change your
synchronization action to Synchronize. This will remove your duplicates for
you.
