Ok, still waiting for my Axim. But in the meantime, I've been playing with Outlook. ive got it pretty much to my liking except for one thing. How do I check my Hotmail Account with Outlook? I've got it all good for Outlook Express, so i thought it would be easy for Outlook. It's not. For about 3 days I've been fiddling. Anybody know?

well, technically. Hotmail is a POP3 account, right? I cant seem to find the settings for it though (server name etc...)Now, in Outlook Express it is listed as a HTTP account and works fine. All I want is my new email messages downloaded to my Axim so i can read them later whether i am online or not.

POP3 access for Hotmail or MSN is only available to subscribers to MSN Extra Storage and MSN Internet Service.
You could upgrade to Outlook XP, it works for me.

According to the web site, if you're paying for the internet access or extra storage you have it.
I only use their free hotmail so I can't tell you what the settings are, but they should have them posted in their email help section.

BTW, Outlook XP has the setup needed to read MSN & Hotmail, I use it both at home and work and it works great.

Ciao for now.

PS: Hang in there! The Axim is worth the wait, all my colleagues with iPAQs feel inferior now...
:D

I have Outlook 2000, is the XP update free? (or substantially cheaper than Office XP alone?)

Free upgrades? From Microsoft? In your dreams buddy!
I guess I should count myself lucky my company provides me with the hardware and software...

I did found their POP3 setting, but unless you have one of their pay services they don't work, I tried already
MSN's POP3 server name: pop3.email.msn.com
MSN's SMTP server name: secure.smtp.email.msn.com

I found this program called 'yahoopops' that also allows me to check my Yahoo! account with Outlook. And Yahoo! is the same as MSN, you pay or no POP3. I am sure that if one looked hard enough there is one out there for MSN or Hotmail...

Cheers

This program works like a champ. I got my 56K CF Modem from Dell today and it works great. Just wish there was more to view on the net with PPC. Does anyone know where I can get Java support?... free???
