Just thought I'd pass this along. I had a file in excel pocket pc which kept giving an error message. The message said it could not access the file, it was being used by another application, or it was a read only file. It was not a read only file, but, I still could not change, delete or move the file. After much work I gave up and called compaq. The solution was too simple. All I had to do was reboot the ipaq 3955 by pressing the bottom pinhole button on the bottom of the handheld. This cleared up the problem. Compaq suggests you reboot after installing new software. Hope this helps someone else.
