Psion Revo + Word file lost!

Does anyone know how to retrieve lost data from a large word file accidentally erased. ( you know the scenario..... "And that ends my diary of the 39 day treck through the Sumatran rainforest." but pressing CTRL. A and not SHIFT A {thus selecting all) and replacing the lot with the "n" of and!)

Can the entire 16Mb be uploaded to the PC and interrogated with some utility?
Can I use Peek and Poke like on my old BBC B?
Can a good medium help?
Any help would be appreciated.

I understand your frustration, but there is no way to do what you want (byte-level access to the entire RAM).

Perhaps worth investing in some shareware Recycle Bin software for next time?

I think that you have lost it all I am afraid. However, for future reference, you can use the Revert To Saved menu command (File -> More -> Revert to Saved) to restore the file to the state it was in when you last saved it. If you have closed the Word document now then this is not an option in this instance.

BTW, did you try Undo after making this mistake? Also, did you not get a warning? I do if I select all of the txt and type a new character.
