I have several files which I constantly update both at home and at the office (and no laptop - thank you). I was thinking of buying a Disk-On-Key - but then I though to myself: Why mess with another thing, when I already carry my pocket pc. I can just use the storage on the pocket pc for storing the files and accessing them from the PC to which it is connected (I have cradles both at the office and home). So I turned off the file conversion, but there is still one signifcant problem: Unlike in a Disk-On-Key, I CAN'T ACCESS THE FILES DIRECTLY FROM MY PC - I always have to first copy them to my PC, and later remember to copy them back. Very problematic indeed. Since both Disk-On-Key and the PocketPC are connected using USB, I don't see the reason why it can't be done - does anybody have a workaround for the problem?
thanks

Your PocketPC runs a different operating system therefore the
files stored in memory is stored based on the operating system
used on the PocketPC. This operating system is different from
the one on the desktop. Get yourself a USB memory pen and
forget trying to convert or mess with file formats and
compatibility. A USB memory pen is just a storage device and
runs on any Windows 98 and higher plus Unix and MAc OS.
Good luck

Disk-on-key is the solution you need. It is a snap since you can work on the file IN the D-O-K and save the changes right there, there is no need to set up a new partnership, or view the files on PPC with the formatting changes. Besides D-O-K prices have dropped significantly, you can buy a huge 128 or 256 for what I paid for my first 64 over a year ago. Make sure you get one with a USB extension and neat little cradle.
Good Luck.

I'm assuming that your PPC has removable flash memory such as CF or SD cards. If you get a D-O-K you will get the memory for your PC only, however if you get a CF or SD card for your PPC your can also get a USB reader and you will have a multifunction memory card for roughly the same price as a D-O-K.
What I am saying is that with a USB card reader your CF or Sd card (which you may already have) can be used in teh same capacity as the D-O-K. For instance the SanDisk Cruzer (a stand alone SD card that has a USB adapter to make it a D-O-K as well).
Hope that helps.
