Has anyone written software that enables a Palm to send and / or receive data via an infra red link to an IR port on an HP laptop?

THey can communicate by IrDA. What type of data are you looking to transfer?

At work I sync my m515 to my HP Omnibook 6000 through the IR port. This is done through the Hotsync Manager, and it is slower than the USB cradle which I use at home.
Other than that, I can't think of any other application which requires an IR link to the computer ... maybe I'm wrong ?
