I had been having no success syncing my T665 to my MAC until I unistalled HOTSYNC 3.0 and reinstalling it again with Extention manager on OS 9.2 base. You need to restart and then reinstall the HOTSYNC from the scratch. Turn to Extention manager and select all palm inits on and restart again(other inits unrelated to palm off). It seems there are some inits conflict that prevent earlier syncing.
Save your monies. You do not need Missing Sync. I tried that and it didn't work too.
